This 3 season dome cabin resides on 33.78 beautiful acres 6 miles north of Virginia, Minnesota. 50% in timber with huge Norways, spruce and some cedar. Ten minutes from town, 20 minutes to great fishing in any direction. Famous Lake Vermillion is only 20 minutes and numerous lakes all around the area. Land of 10,000 lakes! Hunt your own land!

Lots of room to park RV's and boats. An old but straight 18' x 24' garage for other toy storage.

County maintains road year round.

Private on a dead end road.

40' diameter, interior height 14', 2 bedrooms, de/library. bath, utility, kitchen/dining/living.

It has approximately 1150 square feet. All the interior work was done summers by me, the owner. I live in Colorado and spent 3 months every summer working on it until 2005 when I began suffering from nerve damage and started losing the feelings in my legs. I am now disabled and unable to "finish" the place as all our monies are going to medical stuff.

When I say I can't "finish" the place, there are aspects that need to be addressed before this could be a year round residence. Right now it is set up as a "camp" or a small but sweet survival site, and very livable as long as you don't mind washing up by hand!

No running water, interior plumbed, 23' sand point well drawing great water. SunMar composting toilet, 1500 gallon tank gallon holding tank.

The place would NOT accommodate a flush toilet.

The holding tank is permitted for use until August 2011 at which time a new permit will be required.

There is no running water. The place is plumbed but there is no water line from the well to the dome. The exterior chimney needs to be installed, all components are there at the dome.

Vermont Casting wood burning stove.

Small fridge and electric stove. 100 amp elec service.

A Craftsman riding mower, extension ladder, a few pieces of furniture come with the place.

The non-homesteaded property taxes this year were $1100.

Homesteaded would cut that in half. Monthly maintenance charge from the electric company is $22. There is no phone line and cable is not yet available out there.

The property has lots of wildlife, I had a small bear come through one summer, a wolf one morning, and deer, 3 to 5 of them, come through twice a day, and all the little critters native to the area, ermine, squirrels, great horned owls. A half acre of blueberries, wild strawberries around and raspberries too.

There are remnants of a rock quarry used in the 50's that has lots of usable rock and sand. They dug out a small pond 600 feet beyond the dome site when working the quarry back in the 50's and that still remains, fed by a small trickle of a creek that swells during a long rainy period.

The dome is in a small rural neighborhood of 2 to 3 acre lots. The dome is on a dead end road with a few neighbors. The dome is set 200' off the road and is very private.
This place was built in 2002/2003. The shell was erected by Sutterfield Services, LLC out of Rolla, Mo. He is a professional monolithic dome builder trained at the Monolithic Dome Institute in Italy, Texas.

I've outlined our 34 acres here in blue with the dome, the small creek and pond outlined, all in blue.

The other houses in the neighborhood are in red. The yellow line is Tamarack Road. One picture I sent shows a gravel road with trees on both sides (?)...that picture was taken at the northeast corner of the property where the road cuts across. That shot gives a great idea of what 50% of the 34 acres looks like. Awesome.
