mystery house solved Earth House Subterranea for the world 3-26-2010 2-40-57 PM

The Maple Creek, Saskatchewan "mystery house" was built in 1902 on Jasper Street by J.W. Lawrence Sr. It was a replica of Mrs.Lawrence's family home in Scotland. The Lawrence family owned the house until around 1945. The 16 room brick house had a stone basement and foundation, a verandah around the main floor and a balcony around the second floor. The house had two sets of stairs to the second floor and another set to the cupola. There were beautiful hardwood floors throughout and two large marble fireplaces with hand-carved hardwood mantles.
